Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably underlain by Pab Sandstone Fm (gradational).
Upper contact
Disconformably overlain by Khadro Fm (Paleocene).
Regional extent
The formation is recognized in the Sulaiman and Kirthar provinces and the Axial Belt. It conformably overlies Pab Sandstone Fm; where Pab is not developed, it conformably overlies Fort Munro Fm or disconformably Parh Limestone Fm. It is disconformably overlain by Khadro Fm, and the contact is marked by a basal algal conglomerate of Khadro Fm. The formation is lateral facies equivalent of Pab Sandstone Fm, and at places overlies it. It is correlated with Humai Fm of Balochistan and uppermost part of Kawagarh Fm of the Kohat area.
